Salvador Bahia, Brazil – Due Diligence captation plant

The Salvador Bahia landfill site is the first ever plant worldwide to be recognised for CDM credits as laid down by the Kyoto protocol. The landfill boasts a biogas captation plant with a capacity of over 12,000 m3/h biogas.

In 2008, we carried out a Due Diligence analysis to assess the effective captation performance, update the production model and furthermore proposed integrated captation solutions. We then formulated an integrated system of biogas captation and energy recovery. In February 2013, we undertook fresh Due Diligence analyses on the site.
